Undersecretariat for Latin American Economic Integration and MERCOSUR

The Undersecretariat for Latin American Economic Integration and MERCOSUR contributes to the design and implementation of Argentina’s foreign economic policy with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and in regional organizations and forums. Integration with the region is a strategic State policy for Argentina, which is reflected in its active participation in the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), as well as in the promotion of stronger bilateral economic relations with the region’s nations.

In coordination with the competent domestic agencies, the Undersecretariat has a comprehensive vision taking into account the multiple dimensions of the economic and trade integration process. Its purpose is to contribute to the consolidation of a development pattern structured around the principles of complementarity, reciprocity and solidarity between our countries, to boost our capacities to jointly seize the opportunities and meet the challenges arising from the changing international context, thus increasing productive capacities, adding value to production and promoting the creation of jobs and the expansion of rights in Argentina and throughout the region.
